"Very deep...left me with a feeling of coming home." - pascale

When yoga came to the west in the 20th century the sound practices that were an intrinsic part of the  yoga tradition were set aside, and asana came to the fore.  For this reason, few yoga teachers today realize the central place sound has held in yoga since its beginnings over two thousand years ago.  Only recently have 21st century yogins begun to rediscover these ancient sound techniques as simple, quick, and easy tools to support their modern lives — and they are eager to learn more.

"This course has opened a whole new dimension in my yoga practice. The beginning of a lifetime journey and beyond!" - natalia

The benefits of SOUNDYoga are easily accessible to everyone, but like any form of yoga, practice is made more profound with understanding of underlying principles, alignments, skills and practice. In this Summer Sound Yoga Course students will learn how to skillfully access the power of sound to lighten the heart, clear the mind and create connection.  Through sound studies we will also learn about yoga philosophy, key yogic texts, the aural culture that gave birth to yoga, and so much more.
